"KGS writer" most commonly refers to K. G. Sankara Pillai, a prominent modern Malayalam poet, critic, and former teacher who was recently selected for the 2025 Ezhuthachan Puraskaram. Another notable "Sankara Pillai" is G. Sankara Pillai, a playwright and founder of modern Malayalam theatre. The acronym "KGS" is also sometimes used to refer to K. G. Sankara Pillai's published poetry collections, like "KGS Kavithakal".
