കേരളത്തിലെ കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ കോട്ടയം നഗര ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നാഗമ്പടത്ത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ശിവക്ഷേത്രമാണ് നാഗമ്പ... ടം ശ്രീ മഹാദേവർ ക്ഷേത്രം. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ വെച്ചാണ് ശ്രീനാരായണ ഗുരു ശിവഗിരി തീർത്ഥാടനത്തിന് അനുമതി നൽകിയത്. മലയാള വർഷം 1103-ലാണിത് സംഭവിച്ചത്. ശ്രീ നാരായണ ഗുരുവിന്റെ അനുയായികളും ശിഷ്യന്മാരും എല്ലാ വർഷവും ജനുവരി ഒന്നാം തീയതി ശിവഗിരിയിലേയ്ക്ക് തീർത്ഥാടനം നടത്താറുണ്ട്. 1933 ജനുവരി 1ന് ആദ്യത്തെ തീർത്ഥാടനം നടന്നു. അന്ന് ആകെ അഞ്ചുപേരാണ് പങ്കെടുത്തത്. 1928 ജനുവരി 19ന് ശ്രീ നാരായണഗുരു വല്ലഭശ്ശേരി ഗോവിന്ദൻ വൈദ്യർ, ടി.കെ. കിട്ടൻ റൈട്ടർ എന്നീ വ്യക്തികൾക്ക് ശിവഗിരിയിലേക്ക് തീർത്ഥാടനം നടത്തുവാനുള്ള അനുമതി നൽ
