Catholicate College, Pathanamthitta was established in 1952 as the pioneer institution of higher education of the Malankara Orthodox Church. The College is a constituent first grade college of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and re-accredited with B ++ status by the NAAC. Today, after about 56 years of its existence the college has grown in to a full-fledged institution with 13 post-graduate courses and 11 under graduate courses.
