Dr Thomas Tharayil, the then Bishop of the diocese of Kottayam, the College was established in 1964. Sri. Joseph Chazhikadan MLA and Rev. Fr. Peter Uralil, the first Principal of the College, were the guiding forces behind this noble endeavour.
