St. Joseph's Training College, Kottayam

The College was established in 1957 as a Christian minority institution to training teachers for secondary schools. It was then affiliated to Kerala University and since 1983 to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. It is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education and is re-accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation council. Since 1986, the college is functioning as a co-educational institution. It offers teacher education course leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Post-graduate course of Master of Education (M.Ed.) and The primary Teachers' Training programme (TTC).
