About Ettumanoorappan College, Ettumanoor

Ettumanoorappan College is a pioneering self-financing co-educational college affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University. The founder president of the college is the Late Mr. N Ramakrishna Pillai (Retd. Head Master). The college was established in 1995 and it is owned by the Ettumanoor Education Society, which is registered under the Charitable Societies Act 1985.

Ettumanoorappan College is run under the patronage of Sri. R Ramachandran Nair IAS (Retd. Chief Secretary), who is an efficient administrator, an eminent write, a veteran academician, and a versatile genius. He is the President of the Ettumanoor Education Society. Sri. A. R Thulasidas is the Secretary and Smt. Lakshmi R. Nair is the Treasurer of the society.

The college aims to increase the life opportunities of individuals and the productivity of the organization. The objective of the college is to equip the students with updated subject knowledge in the programmes and to bring out the innate talents of the students and make them confident to take up different jobs. The college helps the students to develop the soft skills through intensive training in communicative skills, leadership quality, personality development and character and capacity building and thus concentrates on the overall development of individuals to shape them as good citizens.

*Infrastructure

The college campus is spread over an area of over 4.50 Acres which includes 51200 sq.ft of built up area in three separate buildings. The teaching- learning process is facilitated in 50 class rooms, three state -of-the-art computer labs with high speed Internet connectivity, a seminar room, conference room, an auditorium and a fully automated library.

* Computer Lab

The primary goal of a well-equipped computer lab at Ettumanoorappan College is to provide our students with assistance that enhances their possibilities of succeeding in their lab works. Computer labs are essential for making activity dominated teaching more successful. The computer labs are equipped with state-of-the-art Hardware and Software . Here we have 3 computer labs with 90 computers, connected with a high speed LAN, and internet facility. There are able and dedicated faculties for helping students.

* Seminar Hall

The College has a well equipped air conditioned seminar hall for conducting various events like conferences, workshops, seminars and other college functions. The seating capacity of the seminar hall is about 90+. It is equipped with complete audio visual system and are made available as and when requested by department/staff for conducting special video lectures and seminars.

* Canteen

Canteen is one of the important part of student life where you can find most of students chatting and gossiping on different topics. It plays a vital role in removing tensions and refreshing students. The college canteen is fairly new and provides enough and delicious food at affordable rates. Our canteen is located inside the campus to facilitate the students for good relaxments.

*Hostel

Ettumanoorappan College offers efficient, well-managed and clean hostel accommodation to girl students. The hostel is located near to the college as a two storeyed building. It is truly a home away from home, where each student receives personal attention and is encouraged not only to develop her academic skills but also to become a well-balanced and caring person. The aim of the hostel is to create an enlightened educational atmosphere, to encourage stable emotional growth in keeping with the goals and mission of the college. The hostel gives students an opportunity to meet peers from other regions and cultures.

* PTA

The college PTA facilitates good communication between parents and faculty. Periodic meetings of the PTA will be held to evaluate the progress of the students in their studies and their behaviour. The parents of the students who have been admitted to this college are members of the Association. They are requested to make occasional visits to the college and meet the principal and staff to enquire about their sons/daughters. They may also extend their help and co-operation to the management and staff in matters relating to the functioning and development of the college.
