Mar Sleeva Medicity

Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai is a quaternary care hospital founded by the Diocese of Palai and entrusted to the Pala Diocesan Medical Education Trust (PDMET) for its management and administration. It is intended to provide advanced medical facilities to all while observing the medical ethics, morals, and principles upheld by the Catholic Church. The hospital is located near the banks of the river Meenachil at Cherpunkal, a magnificent town of age-old traditions, 7 km from Pala and 12 km from Ettumanoor.

The place is blessed with beautiful and attractive scenery and picturesque landscapes. The most important service aspect of Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai is patient care and that is our foremost priority. This is precisely why Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai is known to be one of the best hospitals in Kottayam.

The PDMET, formed in 2005 under the leadership of Mar Joseph Kallarangatt, works under the auspices of the Diocese of Palai. The Trust was formed to provide opportunities in the field of medical and paramedical education. The first project of the trust was the Mar Sleeva College of Nursing at Cherpunkal, successfully inaugurated in 2006. The further growth phase led to the establishment of a tertiary care hospital project named Medicity, comprising all the modern as well as ancient traditional healing methods that include Ayurveda, Homeopathy,Naturopathy, Meditation, and Prayer.

A teaching institution for medical and paramedical courses at a later stage is also on the anvil.
