Pavanatma College was established with the motto, ?In Truth In Love?, in 1982 by His Excellency Rt. Rev. Dr. George Punnakottil, the Bishop of Kothamangalam. The college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam and is managed by the Corporate Educational Agency, Diocese of Idukki. It was recognized in 1997, by the UGC under 2(f) and 12 (b) of the UGC Act of 1956. The college was accredited by NAAC with three star status, in 1999.
