HAMSADHWANI is a captivating dance production that reimagines "Swan Lake", the timeless Russian dance ballet originally composed by Tchaikovsky in 1875. Hamsadhwani narrates a tale of love, betrayal, and transformation through the rich tapestry of Indian traditional dances and storytelling. This unique adaptation is unprecedented and is a harmonious blend of various dance forms creating a mesmerizing fusion that celebrates cultural diversity and inspires innovation. Hamsadhwani is bound to showcase the richness of emotions and movements of Indian dance forms in a powerful aura with moods created with chiaroscuro and symphony.
The Association of St. Teresa’s alumnae (AstA) is proud to bring Hamsadhwani to life,as part of the grand centenary celebration of the prestigious St. Teresa's College, established in 1925. This production features Cine/TV artistes Remya Nambeesan, Devi Chandana, Mrudula Murali, Archita Anish leading a dynamic ensemble of 45 accomplished dancers. The dancers are from the Alumnae over the last fifty years s well as from the current student community of St. Teresas.The show is directed by Mrs. Sajeena Jacob and choreography is by Mrs. Suma Varma an esteemed dancer. The characters in Hamsadhwani are transformed to visual treats by the renowned makeup artiste Mr. Pattanam Rasheed. Music is composed by Mr Krishnaraaj, Lighting and Multimedia design and execution is by Mr Anoop K.V and Mr Saranjith oversees the sets on stage. Hamsadhwani is not just a remarkable dance production presented by Asta but a homage to this esteemed institution by the exceptional talent nurtured by the Teresian community. Surplus from the proceeds will be donated to Karunya Nikethan a home for the destitutes at Vallarpadam.
