Vayalat Exports has been operating in the seafood exporting field since 2006 with exports to a wide spectrum of countries . A professionally managed organisation , with strict quality control procedures conforming to EU and US norms , the company has always been one of the largest exporters of seafood from India.
In 2012 the company entered into a joint venture agreement with Grupo Profand, Spain (one of the largest seafood processors / importers in the European Union) and was renamed as Profand Vayalat Marine Exports (P) Ltd, with Joseph J Vayalat as Chairman and Managing Director. The company has started its business of export of marine products from Sept 2012. About 90% of the exports of the company are to European Union countries.
Profand Vayalat has since consolidated its position as a dynamic organisation exporting quality seafood to the EU, USA, Middle East, Africa, Australia etc, strictly adhering to the most stringent quality control and food safety norms. The company is accredited with EU, USFDA, ISO, IFS and BRC certification.
Our product line encompasses a wide variety of seafoods including Squid, Cuttle Fish, Octopus, Shrimps and Fishes ; in both chilled and frozen form , exported under the brand name 'Profand Vayalat' . Pofand Vayalat is now a well recognised brand name in the sea food business worldwide , due to our emphasis of quality as well as affordability . The company has bagged business excellence awards from different sectors including National Award for “Outstanding Performance in Frozen Cephalopods Exports” consecutively from 2014-15 in a row. Profand Vayalat ensures a high quality of production by the implementation of an HACCP based Quality Control System. We take responsibility for the way our products are produced, giving due importance to environmental considerations and working conditions .This is ensured by constantly educating our employees , focusing on TQM(Total Quality Management) , ensuring 100% compliance of food safety norms , and by maintaining proper hygienic conditions within the production unit. We support initiatives to improve the environment through projects like waste & fresh water management,rain water harvesting & generation of power from solar energy. The company has implemented a well defined corporate Social Responsibility Policy The company is certified with HACCP, FDA (USA), IFS & ISO 14001 Standards. The company is currently having employees around 500 direct and about 700-1000 contract employees. The Annual Turnover of the company for financial year 2014-2015 was Rs.300 Crores.The company targets to achieve a minimum of 30% increase in Turn over (Cumulative) every year, by developing new product implementing value addition and covering other market.
