Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS – SVE)
Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 and was incorporated as Government Deemed University in 1964.
In December 2011, under the aegis of UGC and AICTE, TISS set up the School of vocational Education (SVE) to provide and improve the skill levels of millions of youth, through appropriate Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Diploma and Certificate Courses.
The approach adopted by TISS-SVE is called the Work Integrated Training Programme (WITP). This Vocational Educational Programme is being implemented for the first time in India by TISS.
TISS is a National Employability Enhancement Mission (NEEM) training agency.
Unlike various Distance Education curriculums, the main advantage of Vocational Education is that ON THE JOB TRAINING (OJT) / Internship is compulsory in addition to theory classes.
This will enable the students to get immediate Job Placement in Top Companies.
The courses are suitable for working professionals as there are options to attend theory classes during weekend and complete their OJT /Internship with their present employer. Fresher’s can secure a qualification along with hands on work experience.
Mastermind Institute
was established in 1998 as an Authorized Learning Centre of Manipal University (Formerly known as MAHE) at Cochin, Kerala.
Later became Learning Centers of Sikkim Manipal University (SMU), Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Bharathiar University (BU) and Information Center of IGNOU.
In 2015 stopped intake of all Fresh Admissions, owing to execution of “Territorial Jurisdiction Act” by the UGC.
In 2016 became the first Authorized HUB PARTNER of Tata Institute of Social Sciences – School of Vocational Education (TISS-SVE) in Kerala State.
