The need for quantity surveyors, project procurement engineers is vital for the efficient financial management of construction and engineering projects. This program is designed using principles that are applicable in many engineering, construction, financial management and industrial sectors. It provides students with a solid theoretical base coupled with current and future approaches to practical quantity surveying practice. On attending this course the student will: 
Be able to ensure that the resources of the construction industry are used to best advantage from project inception to demolition. 
Understand how the interrelationship between economics, technology, management and law can be used to add value to the financial and procurement management of construction and engineering projects.
Have intellectual and research skills appropriate to professional work in these disciplines - have a range of transferable skills in information technology, communication and team working.
Be able to evaluate complex problems and formulate original ideas and proposals in the field of the built environment.
A modern QS or PE works with clients, architects, engineers and contractors at every stage of the construction and engineering process, from the initial concept design through to the construction and completion, to ensure that the value for money objectives are met.
