Aware of how poor health care is delivered in a country like India with a population of over a billion people in the early 1980s, and with a vision to develop a health care facility capable of serving the people and saving their lives, Karothukuzhi Hospital Pvt. Ltd. was established on August 31, 1981, with a capacity of 25 beds, a general practitioner, a gynecologist, and an anesthetist on call; a profound step towards improving health care in India. It was the beginning of a transformed healthcare system and the launch of a world-class medical facility at that time in Cochin, Kerala, and it continued to strive to expand its capacity and add crucial wings. This drove this trusted health facility, which was upgraded in 1989 to 60 beds and added departments such as general medicine, general surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, dermatology, ophthalmology, ENT, and physician departments.

Meanwhile, the hospital has become a renowned name among the public and a milestone in improving people's quality of life through optimal health care, thus serving the noble vision of providing people with better health services at reasonable and affordable prices. This zeal to continuously develop the healthcare facility led to another valuable expansion in 1993. The hospital was expanded to a capacity of 110 beds with all basic specialty departments. Furthermore, advanced specialty departments such as cardiology, urology, neurology, facio-maxillo surgery, and plastic surgery were added.

From a 25-bed hospital with one general practitioner to one of Kerala's largest healthcare facilities, KAROTHUKUZHI HOSPITAL, PVT. LTD. now employs over 180 medical and paramedical staff, 22 permanent doctors, and 5 part-time doctors. It is the aforesaid vision that it continues to evolve sophisticated units and robust systems equipped with cutting-edge technologies to improve health care, with 4D ultrasound scanning, treadmill, echo-cardiogram, audiometry, digital X-ray, fully automated laboratory, and other cynosure specialties. A 100-bed, 10-story building, which is nearly completed (construction is almost finished.), is also located inside the same compound with all the super specialty departments.
