Kingsbay Restaurant is a favourite among the foreign tourists and local foodies especially for its continental cuisines. Started only in 2011, this hotel garnered much attention within these few years owing to the variety dishes served and the unique dining experience provided here. The restaurant functions from a heritage building constructed by the British which was later bought and renovated without tampering with the colonial elegance which adds to the overall ambience of the place.

This restaurant is situated at Customs Road near the Beach Hospital and is hardly 200 metres away from the Beach Road. Kingsbay Restaurant has a branch at Panthiramkavu on Thondayad Bypass. Parking area is available by the roadside of the restaurant. It is quite safe to park your vehicle near the roadside as this area is devoid of much traffic.

‘Stuffed Ocean Crab’ is a signature dish from their seafood menu. Crab is stuffed with minced seafood including prawns, mussels, and squid along with cheese and then baked together. The crab shell is filled up with this stuffing and served with grilled pineapple, boiled veggies and tomato beurreblanc sauce. ‘Pomfret Masala Fry’ is a Kongan coastal spicy cuisine. The Pomfret fish which is initially half done is later cooked with grinded masalas and served in red hot gravy. This preparation is also available with other varieties of fish.

‘Ghee Roast Chicken’ is one of the specialty items of this restaurant. This average spicy cuisine from Mangalore has the chicken coated with thick masala. This dish goes well with rotti or appam. Besides chicken, mutton, fish or prawn ghee roasts are also available here. ‘Burned Garlic Steak’ is an all-time hit from their full meal dishes. Smokey, tangy flavoured grilled chicken breasts are served with stuffed tomatoes, au gratin and fries. The chicken breasts are well-cooked and the sauce served with the dish is a tasty dip to relish this delicacy.

The indoor of the restaurant furnished with wooden tables and chairs offers a classy ambience. It has a single rectangular dining area and the walls are painted with scenes of costal life. The whole restaurant is very softly lit. The orders here are served by stewards who are courteous in their approach. Overall, Kingsbay Restaurant is an ideal location for a family dinner outing.
