Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a non-invasive medical treatment that involves the use of a hyperbaric chamber. When a patient enters an HBOT chamber, they enter a higher than atmospheric pressure environment, breathing high concentration of oxygen, which increases the volume of dissolved oxygen in the blood plasma, producing several physiological benefits attributed to hyperoxia.
